A nice weekend: Friday night out at Dave & Busters for drinks and arcade games, Saturday spent hanging out with a friend for sushi and shopping, and Sunday… Oh god, Sunday I spent all day playing World of Warcraft.

Why?! Why did I give in?! My cousin and her husband have been playing it and somehow I just decided to go ahead and give it a try. I got a free 10-day trial account, but damn… this game is addictive. Already I recall my days of playing City of Heroes… hours and hours playing non-stop, leveling up my character, completing quests, and immersing myself in a whole virtual world. Minutes of gameplay stretched out to hours as I tell myself that this is the last quest I’ll complete, the last enemy I’ll exterminate, the last level up. It’s never the last.

And I haven’t even bought the full game yet.

Should I?

— A Week Later —

I’m level 18 now. I like the game. I play it a lot. However, I am not at the point where everything else in my life halts so that I can battle monsters, explore dungeons, seek rare equipment, and hoard gold. That’s a good sign, right?

My 10-day trial is going to end soon. I think I’ll buy it. Try it out for a month. I can quit anytime, right? Ugh, just saying those words makes it already sound like an addiction.

Whatever. I’ll just have fun with it.

Riddle Me This

Personal August 8th, 2008

Who are you?
I’m me. And I’m awesome. TO THE MAX.

What’s your Philosophy?
Live without regret, don’t be bothered by the drama, and just be content with what you have but always reach for more.

First thoughts in the morning…
None, really. I’m in automatic mode as I shower, dress, make lunch, and drive to work w/o thinking about anything.

Your current mood is…?
Content. Sometimes bothered by people/things, but I just get over it.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years…
Have my own place and making kick ass computer software. Also possibly starting a large family.

Your thoughts on ….

Life-
It’d be boring without the rough patches. And life is more about the people you make connections with and what you do to strengthen those bonds.

Love-
Love hurts, but it is worth it. And there is no such thing as love at first sight or destiny or all that romantic crap. Love grows from wherever it may and is much more special that way, I think.

Success-
If something is successful, then the work was definitely worth it.

Happiness-
Is all up to you.

Death-
Too much to do to think about it.

Fear-
Yeah, conquer your fear. Rather, have the courage to stand up and endure it.

Abortion-
No strong opinion.

Why poverty exists?
I’m not much of a social commentator. I think it exists due to a combination of things: the economy, politics, and perhaps even the poor’s unwillingness or inability to act.

The U.N.-
Have they really accomplished anything lately? I’m out of touch with the world.

Wars- (by wars I mean wars in general)-
They suck.

Suicide-
Such a selfish and hurtful act.

What is your favorite…

Author-
Rowling. Raymond E. Feist. George R. R. Martin. Geoff Johns. L. Frank Baum.

Book-
I am loving the “A Song of Ice and Fire” series by Martin.

Music Lyric-
Always changes, but one that’s currently stuck in my head:

This is so nice
I just might sleep with the same girl twice
They say it’s better the second time
They say you get to do the weird stuff (we do the weird stuff)
- Captain Hammer, “So They Say” from Dr. Horrible’s Sing-A-Long Blog

Quote about life–
“Without friends no one would choose to live, though he had all other goods.” – Aristotle

Curse Word-
Frak.

Movie-
Tons and tons. Too many to name.

Movie quote-
I have lots… but one that comes to me at the moment: “I’m not a smart man… but I know what love it.” – Forest Gump

Final Random Thoughts…..

What would be the best job in the world?
One that causes no stress, keeps you active and satisfied, and provides you with more than enough monetary compensation

And the worst job would be?
Jizz mopper?

What is your biggest accomplishment to date?
Finishing school. Or is it finally overcoming my shyness? Hm.

What do you wish to accomplish in the next 5 years?
Own/rent my own place. Move to Chicago. Have an awesome job in IT or software programming.

If you die tomorrow…

Who will speak at your funeral?
Hopefully family and friends.

What would you like your eulogy to say?
Eh… I would rather be surprised so I have no idea what I would want it to say.

How would you hope to leave this world?
Brutally torn to shreds and eaten by a panda bear.

Would you tell anyone you were going to die?
Sure. To those that mattered to me.

If you wrote a final letter to be read at your funeral what would it say…
“I hope I accomplished all I had set out to do. And I sincerely wish that you all are achieving your own dreams.”

“Also, burn/delete all my porn.”

Upon arriving at the pearly gates…what would God say to you?
“Lets go get crunked.”

What is a quick way to start a conversation?
Simply saying “hi” works for me on most occasions.

And a quick way to end one??
Tell the person sorry, but you have to go return some video tapes.

And finally..Your famous last words?
“This panda looks safe enough to pet. He looks real cute and friendly!”
