I’ve fallen out of practice. I haven’t played and completed an RPG in like, months. There hasn’t been any good ones released lately, or maybe none that have enticed me enough to buy. I’ve been thinking of replaying a classic one though…
I’d have to really budget my time, however. I remember the days when I could play a game non-stop for hours, late into the night, even into the next day, skipping sleep. I can’t do that anymore. I have work in the day! And I’ve also been occupying my time with reading books…
Well first I need to decide on what game to play. Here’s a list, in no particular order, of my favorite ones that I can play (SNES off limits since I can’t find the the friggin thing):
- Final Fantasy VII (PS)
- Final Fantasy Tactics (PS)
- Suikoden (PS)
- Suikoden II (PS)
- Summoner (PS2)
- Final Fantasy X (PS2)
- Kingdom Hearts (PS2)
- Paper Mario (N64) – Actually, it’s on the Wii virtual console now…
That’s it for now. Unless there’s one out there (classic or new) that I should try… I plan on starting the game sometime next week and complete (like completist complete) by the end of the month. So… what should I play?

Final Fantasy Tactics is the best game you have on that list. But wait for the PSP version in the fall.
I say you complete Final Fantasy XII. I started a new file and I am leveling up Vaan to level 50 at the beginning of the game. You know, where you are. You could always copy my data as that would make the game a breeze for you. You could beat the game at that level. And at the beginning of the game!
Or buy Persona 3, which is coming out next week. Shin Megami Tensei is the best series you’ve never played!
And Summoner is awful. You need to bequeath me Suikoden I and II for owning that travesty.

I totally forgot Tactics is coming out on the PSP with the extra stuff…
FF XII… eehhhh… I guess I can give it another shot.
I thought Summoner was pretty good. It was the only RPG out at the time when I got it for the PS2. lol
AND SUIKODEN I AND II RULE.

IF you have a DS or gameboy advance I would seriously recomend mario and luigi: superstar saga. If you liked paper mario or mario RPG you’ll enjoy the shit out of it. Also, like Eric said, Shin megami tensei is quite good. From the ones you listed Final fantasy 7, 10 and tactics are amongst my favorite final fantasy games, so theyre all good.
